Volunteering Ireland have announced the introduction of www.irelandinvolved.ie a new website where organisations can list their volunteering opportunities free of charge and volunteers can search for and apply for opportunities of interest in their own locality.

Mars Ireland are supporting Ireland Involved and have launched the “Play Your Part” campaign. The campaign encourages the public to find volunteer opportunities in their locality. Look out for ads on TV, in stores nationwide, online, in print media and on radio. This campaign will deliver thousands of people to Ireland Involved so it is a unique chance for organisations to recruit people for immediate volunteering opportunities or indeed bank them for the future.

Mars Ireland has also offered a prize fund of €30,000 for one organisation to go towards the work of the organisation. Your organisation must be registered on www.irelandinvolved.ie and the volunteer who nominates you must also have a volunteer account on the site.

Ireland Involved aims to help four core groups involved in volunteering:

Community & voluntary organisations – Ireland Involved provides a suite of online tools to improve volunteer management.
Volunteers – Ireland Involved provides a website where individuals can view and search volunteering opportunities available by location, time commitment or type of opportunity.
Companies –The suite of tools will assist companies to find appropriate volunteering opportunities, track hours volunteered by employees and report on volunteering projects undertaken.
Volunteer Centres – Ireland Involved and local Volunteer Centres will work together to ensure the best possible service to volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations, easy access to a well-populated searchable database of volunteering opportunities and expand and enhance the quality of information they gather to influence policy.

Volunteering Ireland is committed to creating an enabling environment for volunteering in Ireland. Ireland Involved is an open-information system which facilitates free-flowing communication between volunteers and organisations.
