The Winners of The Irish Fundraising Awards

The Irish Fundraising Awards took place last night in The Gibson Hotel, Point Village, Dublin 1. 
The awards were hosted by well-known RTE presenter, Mary Kennedy and provided an opportunity for the charity sector to recognise excellence in fundraising and also for attendees to network with other fundraisers from across the sector.
Fundraisers from all over the country turned out in force to celebrate with their peers some of the greatest fundraising achievements of the past 12 months.
The winners of the 2011 Irish Fundraising Awards are as follows:

Awards for Organisations:
Best Corporate/Charity Partnership
(Large organisation with an annual income of €500k or more)
This award recognised the most successful partnership between a charity and a commercial organisation.
Organisation: Headstrong
Campaign: Headstrong & O2 Partnership
Best Corporate/Charity Partnership
(Small to medium sized organisation with an annual income of less than €500k)
This award recognised the most successful partnership between a charity and a commercial organisation.
Organisation: Business to Arts
Campaign: ‘New Stream’ a project operated by Business to Arts supported by Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Best Direct Marketing Campaign
This award recognised the campaign that demonstrated the best use of direct marketing in fundraising.
Organisation: Barnardos
Campaign: Change a Child’s Life
The judges also gave a special recognition award to Merchants Quay Ireland for their Christmas Appeal 2010.
Most Innovative Fundraising Campaign
This award recognised the campaign that showed significant innovation in fundraising.
Organisation: Unicef
Campaign: Euro for Zero
Best Event
This award recognised the event that demonstrated the best use of resources, partners, volunteers and team effort to ensure optimum fundraising return.
Organisation: Irish Cancer Society
Campaign: Shave or Dye
The judges also gave a special recognition award to Temple Street Children's University Hospital for their Tour de Picnic event.
Awards for Individual Fundraisers:
Best Emerging Fundraiser
This award was presented to the fundraiser who has shown aptitude, ability and success beyond their experience.
Cliona Hegarty, National Campaigns Manager at Irish Cancer Society
National Fundraiser of the Year
(Working within a large organisation with an annual income of €500k or more)
This award recognised the individual fundraiser who has demonstrated excellence in fundraising, through innovation, creativity and hard work.
Jonathan Irwin, Chief Executive and Founder of Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation
