Onwards and Upwards: Trends and Challenges for Fundraising

Daryl Upsall: Daryl has 23 years experience of successfully founding and managing fundraising, communications and advocacy operations for NGOs in some 42 countries. He is known for his leadership and innovation in fundraising. In 1990 he pioneered telephone legacy fundraising for HIV/AIDS in Europe, face to face fundraising in 1995 and launched the first national charity legacy campaign in Spain in 2007. He has had a successful career in lobbying and advocacy for development NGOs, womens' rights, advocacy organisations, and liberation movements. In the 1990s he was International Fundraising Director for Greenpeace International. Daryl has worked with Nelson Mandela, Elton John and numerous world leaders and international celebrities. He leads an international consultancy based in Spain whose clients include many of the world's leading NGOs and UN agencies.
Tina Roche: Tina was appointed Chief Executive of The Foundation for Investing in Communities in January 2000. She established two organisations - The Community Foundation for Ireland and Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI). She has overseen the development of the EPIC programme - Employment for Parents of Irish born Children (EPIC), the Schools Business Partnership, The Linkage Programme (ex-offender placement) and Ready for Work encouraging business action on homelessness. Tina has a MBA from IMI/Fordham and has many years business experience having worked as Financial Controller and Company Secretary with The Sunday Tribune. Previous to her present role she worked for The National Gallery as Head of Development 1994 to 1999. She is also a current member of the senate of the National Universities of Ireland (NUI), a board member of Philanthropy Ireland and an ambassador of the Transatlantic Community Foundation Network.
